Distilled Notations

Every living thing has an "essence," its intrinsic nature or indispensable quality. This series of images explores the essence of plants and flora. A low photographic angle adds a majestic quality to the allium and focuses it within its deep blue sky background. Tiny seedlings collected from the path's spring blanket or petals from irises or tulips are placed in orderly arrays, sometimes becoming a visual codex. They are beauty in simplicity.
