Travelling Notations 

Travelling Notations is a collection of photo-based artworks and videos that relate to the human condition with varied implications. This exhibition incorporates digital photography and video, video stills, drawings, creative writing, and sculptural processes. Interweaving found elements with computer manipulation, the photographic elements subtly transform. The artworks stand as visual metaphors for the human journey. Based on sensory input, climactic shifts, and evidentiary verification - coupled with the human dichotomies of life, such as weight/lightness, presence/absence, and freedom/constraint, Travelling Notations explores sensory response. Sometimes the work is about passage, and at other times it is about stasis–endur­ance and grounding.

traveling home
the land is flat looking forward or even backwards you can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

i’ve walked these cornfields at fifteen plodding in the muddy soil picking tops of sexually ripe plants de-tasseling corn in 90 + degree weather after it’s rained humidity @ 100%

driving
this route for the umpteenth time returning it smells familiar dark pregnant clouds    suggesting

humidity – sexually ripe – 90 + degrees
